Janine and Doug just want to get away for the weekend. Go for walks on the beach, eat room service, and just relax. But, when they check into their room, a strange briefcase left behind makes them a bit uneasy. And then the whispers start...
The second film from the award-winning production team behind Hunger - A Short Film, Lost Property was filmed over 24 hours straight for submission to the prestigious TropFest short film festival in Sydney, Australia.
Conceived specifically for TropFest, Lost Property was filmed in a single hotel room over a twenty-four hour period. The cast and crew endured the entire shoot without sleeping (apart from a few micro naps), which added to the overall feel of the film.
Three weeks of sound mixing, ADR, colour grading, and score composition later, the film was finally submitted to TropFest 27 on January 3rd, 2019. Stay tuned for Notification Day on January 21st to see if Lost Property was successful in its TropFest bid.
TropFest Australia, now in its 27th year, is the largest short film festival in the world. With a mission to inspire production as well as exhibition, TropFest includes a TropFest Signature Item (TSI) in their guidelines every year to ensure that films are crafted specifically for the event. TropFest 27's TSI is Candle.
Hosted in outdoors in Parramatta, NSW in February, TropFest's panel of judges has featured well-known celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Baz Luhrmann, Hugh Jackman, and Mel Gibson.
